DR THOMAS M. EGAN (Chapel Hill, NC): How do you think the l-arginine is working? I ask the question because it is very easy to jump to the conclusion that it is working because of nitric oxide, but is it possible that it is having some effect on leukocyte function?
DR SHIRAISHI: Actually, we did not measure myeloperoxidase, so I do not have any good answer for that one.
