To the Editor:

We would like to thank Juan-Carlos López-Gutiérrez [1] for his helpful comment on our study [2]. The remarks of Drs López-Gutiérrez and Gil-Alonso are not out of context. However, a recent article by Bruder and colleagues [3] stated, "Vascular lesions of bone are rare and their terminology is not standardized." This shows that although the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies approved a classification in 1997, even after 11 years, the issue is not resolved completely.

On the other hand, in major pathology textbooks, namely Ackerman's [4] and Sternberg's [5], they also are not clearly delineated. Then the histopathologic diagnosis was hemangioma, but one cannot reject this classification, and it is true that it may be stated as a "venous malformation." Your suggestion will help with our future investigation.
