We thank Drs Amico and Carbone [1] for their interest in our article [2]. Clearly they have had similar experience with entrainment of BioGlue (CryoLife Inc, Kennesaw, GA) through suture lines under intracardiac negative vent suction. However they have cleverly utilized this phenomenon in a deliberate fashion but taken steps to protect the valve mechanism from damage by any entrained adhesive [1]. We think this reiterates our warning and confirms our putative mechanism involving the application of vent suction during BioGlue (CryoLife Inc) placement onto aortic suture lines.
