Due to a clerical error on the part of the authors, we inadvertently did not disclose potential conflicts of interest for the above-named manuscript [1]. Although we recognized this before publication and notified the Editorial Office, it was too late to include our disclosures with the publication. This publication is not intended to focus on a particular technology; however, we do mention equipment from two companies in the manuscript. Therefore, we write this letter to disclose relationships related to this publication.
Dr Gillinov is a paid consultant to AtriCure, Inc, and served as a paid consultant at the time of this submission. He has no equity interest in AtriCure, Inc.
Dr McCarthy is a paid consultant to AtriCure, Inc, and served as a paid consultant at the time of this submission. He has received stock options in AtriCure, Inc.
Dr Cosgrove states that at the time this paper was submitted, he served on the Board of Directors of AtriCure, Inc. At that time, he was also involved with the management of a private fund that has an equity interest in AtriCure, Inc. At this time he is no longer a member of the Board of Directors of AtriCure, Inc, and is no longer involved in the management of the private fund. The Cleveland Clinic has an indirect equity interest in AtriCure, Inc through its interest in this fund.
We apologize for this oversight and appreciate the opportunity to make these disclosures.
