To the Editor
Doctor Lee has to be congratulated for his excellent results. Regarding his comments on our article, we carefully observed patients at follow-up and found temporary numbness in some of the patients only. Because pain levels were significantly reduced by cryoablation it is an easy method to improve patient outcome [1].
A muscle-sparing surgical incision was applied. No ribs were removed during lateral minithoracotomy and pericostal sutures were routinely used. Drilling holes in the caudal rib seems a good alternative. However, cryoablation is an easy technique that leaves patients with only minimal residual pain postoperatively.
