We urge authors interested in submitting manuscripts to The Annals to read carefully the revised and updated Information for Authors sheet found in each issue of the journal. There are many important changes to be noted. For instance, we now require an original and three (instead of two) duplicate manuscripts, and four (instead of three) sets of illustrations. Because of the continuing escalation of production costs, greater attention must be given to the length of papers. Therefore guidelines for the suggested length of various articles are given in both the number of pages and the number of words. There are other significant changes as well. Failure to follow the instructions carefully may result in the manuscript being returned for further processing.
