    Introduction

The Forty-Sixth Annual Meeting of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) will be held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, January 25–27, 2010, preceded by STS/AATS Tech-Con 2010 on Saturday, January 23, and Sunday, January 24. The meeting is open to all physicians, residents, fellows, engineers, perfusionists, physician assistants, nurses, and other interested individuals. Both members and nonmembers are urged to register in advance. Meeting attendees will be provided with the latest scientific information for practicing cardiothoracic surgeons.

The program will encourage discussion by surgeons and practice administrators on issues faced in daily practice, as well as issues faced in the broader healthcare and economic environment.

On Monday afternoon, there will be five Parallel Surgical Forums titled "Adult Cardiac," "General Thoracic," "Congenital Cardiac," "Critical Care for the Cardiothoracic Surgeon," and "Patient Safety." These Forums will run from 1:30 PM–3:30 PM.

The Workforce on Annual Meeting Program Task Force has once again developed an excellent program for three separate movie matinees; one for each of the three subspecialties: Adult Cardiac, General Thoracic, and Congenital. Surgical Motion Pictures . . . [Full Text of this Article]
