We appreciate the thoughtful comments of Dr Selnes. It is correct that Table 3 in our study [1] does not indicate that the Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT) score for the patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting with cardiopulmonary bypass (CABG group) changed over time, and this could mean the CABG patients were no worse off regarding neurological morbidity.
