Alexiou and co-workers [1] warned about the adverse effect that pneumonectomy (versus lesser resection) exerted on the long-term survival of 485 patients operated on for stage I primary nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Differences were significant in the univariate and multivariate analyses.
