A male child was born at term to a 29-year-old mother, whose antenatal course was complicated by poyhydramnios and a large mediastinal mass in the fetus. This newborn had an uneventful delivery and was stable from a cardiorespiratory standpoint. On cardiovascular examination, he had normal heart sounds and no murmurs.
