    Introduction

The Thirty-seventh Annual Meeting of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons was held at the Ernest N. The Scientific Sessions were attended by 1,248 members of all categories and 913 guests, including 233 residents, for a total of 2,162 physician attendees.

Continued this year on Tuesday morning were the Clinical Workshops. On Wednesday morning a series of Meet the Experts Sessions on selected topics was held. These were run concurrently with the popular How I Do It Breakfast Sessions. The J. Maxwell Chamberlain Memorial Paper, "Surgical Repair of Extent II Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysms: Evaluation of Morbidity and Mortality" was presented by Joseph S. Coselli and was coauthored by Scott A. LeMaire, Cuneyt Koksoy, Zachary C. Schmittling, and Lori D. Conklin.
