D-transposition of the great arteries is infrequently associated with
anomalies of the aortic arch. We report a rare case of double aortic arch
associated with D-transposition of the great arteries. The diagnosis was
made by angiography and transthoracic echocardiography. The patient
underwent a successful simultaneous arterial switch operation and division
of the vascular ring through a median sternotomy incision.
