The perspective of the industry

This article calls for the development of a process to build a national consensus to assist in developing a critically needed national health policy. The physician's role in leading initiatives for major change is emphasized. Failure of physicians to participate as advocates of change will detrimentally affect the health of the nation and diminish the level of public respect and trust.
