A technique of locating the internal mammary artery behind the phrenic
nerve is described, which extends the application of internal mammary
artery grafting to the lateral wall of the left ventricle. The technique
also facilitates the performance of the posterolateral anastomosis between
the internal mammary and circumflex coronary arteries.
