We report the case of a patient in whom a myocardial infarction complicated
a coronary bypass reoperation. We believe the infarction was associated
with embolic occlusion of a large coronary branch by atheroma, which we
demonstrated in a previous bypass graft preoperatively and did not see in
the postoperative study. We are not aware that atheroembolism of a large
coronary branch has been reported before in a survivor of reoperation.
