A 5-year-old Japanese boy was admitted to the hospital with a submitral annular aneurysm of unknown etiology. Aneurysmectomy and repair of this defect with a Gore-Tex patch were performed. A review of English-language literature indicates that this is the first reported case of a submitral annular aneurysm in an Oriental child.
