Improved technique for bedside insertion of the Swan-Ganz pulmonary artery catheter

A method for inserting the Swan-Ganz pulmonary artery ballon has proved this to be a safe and efficient approach to hemodynamic monitoring of critically ill patients, frequently catheter utilizing direct subclavian venipuncture is presented. Our experience eliminating the need for bedside surgical procedures.
